Below the guideline
Discuss test conditions, timing, and whether future monitoring makes sense for the property owner.
Results / what your number means
A radon number is a measurement. The goal is to compare the result with the Canadian guideline and decide whether testing, monitoring, or mitigation should be discussed.
This tool provides general information only and does not replace professional radon testing, mitigation assessment, medical advice, official guidance, or a site-specific evaluation. Testing conditions, device type, placement, and duration can affect interpretation. See the Terms & Disclaimer.
Canadian guideline
Canada’s indoor radon guideline is 200 becquerels per cubic metre, written as 200 Bq/m³. If a long-term test result is above that guideline, mitigation is generally recommended.
Results below the guideline can still be discussed in context, especially if the property owner wants to understand seasonal changes, test length, or future monitoring.
